The 56-year-old Australian actor is dating his 49-year-old American colleague. Hugh Jackman’s children are getting closer to Sutton Foster with a sense of guilt.
The Oscar nominee split up with his 69-year-old wife Deborra-Lee Furness a year ago after 27 years of marriage. The couple has two children, whom they adopted after several miscarriages – 24-year-old Oscar and 19-year-old Ava. The divorce of their parents, with whom they are equally close, was a painful blow for them. The young people are getting used to spending time with both parents in turns and separately. They feel guilty towards their mother for accepting their dad’s new lover Sutton Foster into the family. Oscar and Ava are also trying to figure out how to behave with Hugh’s new passion.
“It’s been hard for the kids to welcome Sutton into their dad’s world, with mixed emotions and at the same time feeling guilty for getting close to her. It’s all getting a bit confusing, but Hugh is hoping that time heals all wounds and if they can get through this festive season without any major rows, things will be easier in the new year,” a close friend of Jackman said.
The X-Men actor is currently in his native Australia, spending the holidays with his children. They are staying at the actor’s stunning $12 million penthouse in North Bondi. Deborra-Lee is staying in the family home in New York for now and it is unclear whether she will be reunited with her ex-husband and children for Christmas in Australia.
