Kitchen sink yesterday today tomorrow

No kitchen can do without washing, even if there is a dishwasher and you are not a fan of cooking. Kitchen sinks have existed with us side by side for hundreds of years, are a component of a kitchen set, an interior element.

A few decades ago, the main one for our compatriots was functionality, and if a white painted car wash, even if with black chips, performed its direct functions, then no one has the need to change it in thoughts.

Time has changed, many new materials appeared – more persistent, convenient, beautiful, innovative technologies allowed to experiment with the shape, size, design. Today, the main materials for the manufacture of kitchen sinks are: stainless steel, artificial stone, natural stone and ceramics.

The washing of stainless steel is most common and popular, since there are many inexpensive models of various forms and configurations. An inexperienced person who buys his first sink in life will look, as a rule, only at shape and price and will not notice important nuances of the material. Stainless sinks are ordinary, very polished, matte and even texture. Polished look spectacular, but they must be regularly rubbed with a special means for shine and protect them from scratches, and the matte or texture is not afraid of micro -processing, but it can collect dirt in the relief, without proper regular care. It is necessary to clean from plaque and household pollution any steel sink.

Natural stone looks expensive, thorough and respectable. Of course, the marble countertop and the sink are beautiful, but the practicality is striving for zero. Marble is the same limestone that perfectly absorbs dirt, dyes, quickly scratches and damages. Beet juice or spilled red wine into such a sink can irrevocably ruin it.

Ceramics – the material is more likely for an amateur and, according to many, is more appropriate in the bathroom.

There are also granite sinks, they, despite their impressive name, are made not entirely from granite, or rather, about 20% of natural stone, and everything else is binding substance. Today, the granite sink is ready to supplant shells made of stainless steel – they are so practical, beautiful and convenient. The technology of production of artificial stone allows you to cast sinks of any shape, suppressive material – quickly correct any damage by polishing. Granite washing, in addition to functionality, has the ability to organically fit any interior-classic or high-tech, be its natural component, and not under the kitchen headset.
